Obituary for Billie Cook

Billie C. Cook, 86, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away at UPMC Hamot on Wednesday, July 5,2023. He was Born in Laurel, MS. On July,25,1936, son of the late Richard Allen Cook and Bessie McDonald. He graduated in 1954, from Mount Olive High School in Mississippi and went to King of Prussia to study mechanics. He had been employed with Coyne Laundry, Ben Fresh Volkswagen and most recently for many years, Potratz Floral Shop. Billie was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan, and enjoyed bowling, cooking, fishing, hunting along with gardening in his yard. He coached baseball and loved his dogs. He was a member of Smith Barney 701 Post Legion in Erie, PA. He was preceded in death by children Anthony Cook, Christopher McCallum, infant son William B. Cook and Cynthia McCallum. Siblings Mae Dorothy Cook, Shirley Ann Martin, Betty Carolyn Cook, Mary Lee Mathis, and Allen Richard Cook Jr. Also preceded in death by grandchildren Shaunya Y. Green and Travon D. Green, Great grandchild Lonnie N. Lunger. He leaves to cherish his memories, His beloved soul mate Ronnie McCallum, son; William Ashley McCallum of Erie, PA., Daughters, Tina (Tevis) Harris of Florida, Helen K. Harrison of Erie, PA, Kimberly A (Kelly) Coley of Columbus, OH, Caroline E (Sean) Green of Erie, PA, Marlene Stokes of Erie, PA. And Darlene (Dale) Barney of Erie, PA. One sister Marjorie Ducksworth of Warrensville Heights, OH. He also leaves behind grandson Michael McCallum that he raised. 20 grandchildren, 34 greatgrandchildren, 4 great greatgrandchildren and Shane Duck his 1 godchild. He loved being a landscaper and working in mechanics, but most of all his family. A public viewing will be held at House of Paradise Funeral Home 701 East Avenue Erie, PA 16503 on Saturday, July 15,2023 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of his celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Crosby, Eulogizing. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation & Funeral Services Inc.
