Mr. Dave Damon Grady, 64, died unexpectedly, May 13th,2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Damon was born April 28,1959, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Mr. Dave Grady and Deaconess Thelma Thomas Grady. Demon graduated from East High School as an outstanding and award-winning athlete (football).
Damon is remembered city and countywide for his smile, his kindness, his service to others as he volunteered at City Mission and Stairways and for his love of family, especially his nieces, nephews and their children. He often loved them as if they were his own children.
Damon was an old soul. He loved old school soul music and the Boston Celtics basketball team (Jason Tatum was his favorite player). He also loved gospel music. His favorite song was Kirk Franklin’s ‘I Smile”. Damon loved God and he was not ashamed to tell people just how good God has been to him.
In addition to his father, Damon was predeceased by his sister Ms. Trina Grady and his maternal grandmother Ms. Virgie Brown.
Carrying his memory forward are his beloved mother, Deaconess Thelma Grady (NC); siblings; Mr. Ronny A. Grady (Denise), Mr. Shawn E. Grady (Otis), Mr. Arlo D. Grady (Andrea) and Mrs. April F. Tate (Eddie) and his maternal great-aunt, Min. Mary Alice Henderson. He also leaves to cherish his memory his godbrother Mr. Dennis Henderson, Jr. (Monica) and his wife and his god-sister, Mrs. Lawanda Goodwine (Amos Jr.) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew and many cousins.
Damon enjoyed spending time with his niece Ms. Rose Grady and her children. She lovingly took great care of her uncle and we, his brothers and sisters, greatly appreciate her for doing so.

As our brother Damon would say, “God is good!”
