Helen Lue Wheaton 76, of Erie, PA. Departed from this earthly life to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 14,2023 at AHN St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Saint Matthews, South Carolina on August 4,1946. Daughter of the late Walter Pinkney and Elise Whren Pinkney. Helen was born the 4th child of 6 children. She moved from South Carolina to Erie with her family at an early age. She loved cooking, her mac n cheese and tuna fish sandwiches were just some of her specialties. listening to gospel music (Shirley Ceasar) and other legends as in Lionel Ritchie, Maxwell and Betty Wright “The Clean-Up Woman”. Also Knitting booties for all her family. Her kind and loving spirit will forever live on through her family. Helen was preceded in death by both parents Walter and Elise Pinkney, sisters Rosalee Pinkney- Lofton and Hattie Graves. Brother Ronald Pinkney. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughter Mecisha Lucas and son Derrick Wheaton. Grandchildren Wakeem Harris and Moeisha McCallum. Great grandchildren; Londyn Harris, Wakeem Harris Jr., Santana Harris and Cataleya Reyes. Brother; James Whren and sister Rebecca Howze and Goddaughter Shawn Lucas. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be held at House of Paradise Funeral Home 701 East Avenue Erie, PA 16503 on Saturday, April 22,2023 at 1:00 p.m. until the time of her celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Duane F. Hunter, Eulogizing. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation & Funeral Services Inc.
