Obituary for James Crockett Sr.

Our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather James Edward Crockett Sr. age 66, of Erie, PA. Transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, February 9,2023 Surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Erie, on April 30,1956 to his parents J.Hue Crockett and Ludean Crockett Mitchell. He graduated from East High School, where he excelled in basketball. He loved playing pool, traveling and skating. He was a avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles lakers fan. Everyone knew not to disturb him while watching his favorite teams playing. He enjoyed attending local BayHawks games with his grandkids and he loved to shop. He had a prestigious style, swag and always dressed to impress. He showed love, compassion and a word of encouragement to all he came in contact with, to know him was to love him. He loved spending time with his family and attending all family functions. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church where he was an usher, and always greeting members with big hug and kiss. His smile was everything.
He was preceded in death by both parents, son James “Manny Fresh” Crockett Jr. Brothers; Bobby Crockett, Frank Crockett Sr, Michael Crockett and Ruben “Spooky” Roberts.
He leaves to cherish his memories Fiancé Nona Williams, His 3 Soldiers; Ayana Crockett, Tabatha Crockett and Nechelle (Donald Raye) Crockett- Chaney. Sons; Jamale, Demetric, Tyree and Donovan. 26 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Siblings; WillieJean Crockett Esters, William (Tony) Crockett, Michelle (Henry) Howze Sr. and Maurice (Veronica) Crockett. GOD brother Minister Braxton (Karen) Vaughn. Bonus children; Shajuana Belle, Tina Duck-Carter, Michael Barnes and Malcolm Barnes Sr. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. “Our King James will live forever in our hearts”.
A public viewing will be held at Second Baptist Church on Thursday, February 16,2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And his celebration of life service Friday February 17,2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lamont Higginbottom Eulogizing. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Funeral. arrangements entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation and Funeral Services Inc.
