Obituary

Karen Maria Green, age 58, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

She was born in Neubrücke, Germany on February 19, 1963 to her beloved parents, Pauline Waites Green, and the late Rev. Dr. Allen B. Green.

During her youth years, Karen relocated to Erie where she was a graduated from the former Tech Memorial High School class of 1981. Karen went on to further her education at Edinboro University where she obtained her B.A. in accounting.

Karen worked at Potratz Floral Shop for over twenty years. She was a member of Poisettes, Mixed Polka Dots and High Rollers bowling leagues throughout the city. She was an avid Boston Celtics and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Karen was an amazing mother with a kind spirit and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Green Stewart-Marshall; grandson, Lorynzo Green, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her memory; mother, Pauline Green of Jefferson, TX.; two children, Fatima Green of Marshall, TX. & Creighton Green of Erie, PA.; two brothers, Jerome Green (Rosie) & Dorian Green; grandchildren, Jaysen & Nena, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A public viewing will be held at Second Baptist Church 757 E. 26th 16504 on Thursday, May 6, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of her homegoing service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Lamont Higginbottom, eulogist. Interment will be private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to House of Paradise Cremation & Funeral Services Inc.
