Obituary for Lavon Hamilton
Lavon Anthony Hamilton, age 64, passed away on Saturday, November 20,
2021, at his childhood home in Erie, PA. Born in Erie on July 9, 1957, a son of Willie, Jr. and Bertine Hamilton. After graduating from Academy High School (Class of 1976), he earned a
trade certificate from Erie Institute of Technology and worked as a Master
Welder for Lord’s, General Electric, and the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 20
years.
A die-hard Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Laker fan, he also enjoyed all genres of music and kept a large collection that he loved sharing with family and friends. Lavon especially loved the Lord and his family.
Preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, an older sister, Monica E. Hamilton, and recently his only son, L. Anthony Hamilton Jr.
In addition to his parents, Lavon is survived by his daughter, Chiara Nicole Hamilton (New Orleans, LA), seven grandchildren, Kennedy Hamilton, Kaleb Hamilton, Kylen Lampton, Cameron Mitchell, Alijah Hamilton, Moses Gray Jr, and Journey Gray.
Lavon has five surviving siblings: Darlene Hamilton George (Marietta, GA), Dewayne Hamilton (Erie, PA), Deborah Hamilton Wilcox (Hiram, GA), Cynthia Hamilton (Clearwater, FL), and Monica Hamilton (Cincinnati, OH) along with five nieces and one nephew.
