Obituary for Lewis "Bumper" Spells

Lewis "Bumper"  Spells
Lewis spells affectionately known as Bumper. Was a lifetime resident of the city of Pittsburgh. He was born on April 17, 1953 to the late Anna and Louis Spells. Lewis passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 14, 2021. Lewis was educated through the public school system and graduated in 1973 he also attended Connelly technical institute in the culinary arts program. Afterwards he spent his later years as a sanitation worker for the city of Pittsburgh. On May 17, 1990 Lewis was United in holy matrimony to Debra Dennis. From this Union they created De'Va Dennis. Lewis had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing. He would often sing songs by the Whispers which was his favorite group. Out of all his siblings he had the loudest Spells whistle. When you heard our family whistle you knew for sure it was him. Lewis absolutely adored his family and no job was too big for him. He always wanted to be involved. Baby Uncle Bump got it, he truly touched others with his singing and sweet charm he was truly loved by many and would be truly missed. Lewis leaves to cherish his memory to his wife Debra Spells, his children Kevin, Lewis, Darius, Tiffany, Leslie, Tamara, Chalet, De'Va, LaToya and Mary.Three step children Darrelle, Danielle and Damein. He was survived by his brother's Kirby, Kevin and Larry Spells. His Sister-in-law Sharon Spells, 2 uncles, Charles and Dwayne Spells and his aunt Janet Spells, grandchildren and great grandchildren and 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Lewis will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him. He touched a multitude of lives with his kindness and loving heart. Visitations will be held on Saturday February 27, 2021 from 12pm-3pm with the Celebration of Life to begin at 3pm at House of Paradise Cremation and Funeral Services, 608 E. Warrington Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Social Distancing guidelines will be adhere to. Mask are required.
