Marcus Franchez Gibson, Jr. was born March 6, 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Marcus
Franchez Gibson, Sr. and Jasmine Jacquae Youngblood-Gibson, grandson of the late Shelley
Lee Austin. Marcus, all to soon and sadly departed this life on January 6, 2021.
Marcus attended Propel High School in Braddock Hills, Pa. as a sophomore. He always had an
interest in learning about science and thinking of possible ways to solve technical problems. He
was very well liked by other students and will be greatly missed by them.
Marcus was an extraordinary and gifted teenager and loved spending time with his family; He
had a gentle and quiet spirit, soft spoken and had great respect for others. He was his mom's bestfriend and loved basketball, playing his video games as most teenagers do. He was called a soldier in his family because he looked out greatly for his mom and his
two sisters all of the time. He understood the value of life, using his bright light to touch many lives in such a short amount of time. Marcus was a young African American aspiring to be an engineer. Often times if you seen him you would see his best friend Euro right by his side. Marcus was a member of ,Warriors of Holiness in Power Church
along with his family and gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in September of 2020, and he
will be missed by all of his church family members. To Jasmine, Beverly Brown and Family.
You have my deepest heartfelt condolences for the loss of your
son and Beverly your great grandson.
Marcus was a sweet, quiet, respectful young man with a gentle and kind spirit! I was his neighbor and school crossing guard. When it was cold out Marcus and his sisters would sit in the car until their bus came. Marcus would get in and go to sleep, but he didn't want to get out when it was time for the bus.🙂
I am going to miss my quiet buddy Marcus, walking by the house and he would always give me a hug! Rest with God my dear sweet gentle giant!💖
Love and Prayers,
Mrs. Jackie Pendleton
