Marcus Franchez Gibson, Jr. was born March 6, 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Marcus
Franchez Gibson, Sr. and Jasmine Jacquae Youngblood-Gibson, grandson of the late Shelley
Lee Austin. Marcus, all to soon and sadly departed this life on January 6, 2021.
Marcus attended Propel High School in Braddock Hills, Pa. as a sophomore. He always had an
interest in learning about science and thinking of possible ways to solve technical problems. He
was very well liked by other students and will be greatly missed by them.
Marcus was an extraordinary and gifted teenager and loved spending time with his family; He
had a gentle and quiet spirit, soft spoken and had great respect for others. He was his mom's bestfriend and loved basketball, playing his video games as most teenagers do. He was called a soldier in his family because he looked out greatly for his mom and his
two sisters all of the time. He understood the value of life, using his bright light to touch many lives in such a short amount of time. Marcus was a young African American aspiring to be an engineer. Often times if you seen him you would see his best friend Euro right by his side. Marcus was a member of ,Warriors of Holiness in Power Church
along with his family and gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in September of 2020, and he
will be missed by all of his church family members. Along with his parents left to carry on his legacy is his: Sisters Mariyah Raeshell Gibson, Breona Shelley Austin, Grandfather Coty Youngblood, Grandmother Lavita Gibson, Great-Grandmother Beverly J. Austin-Brown, God-parents, Rhea Winton and Omar Good, God-Sisters Ira'Lynn Lane, Kah-Rhea McClain, Uncles Raevon Gibson, Ashton Gibson, Andre Kidding, Coty Youngblood Jr. Henery Brown, His Pastors, James & Denise Samuel, best friends who he loved Keyshawn Coleman and Euro Dinero Gibson, and a host of cousins and friends.
A Public Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 10am-12pm, at WHIP Ministries at
1174 Mifflin Rd, Pgh 15207. The Celebration of Life will be held FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY. The funeral service will air on the funeral home's facebook page. Please adhere to the Social Distancing Guidelines. A mask must be worn.
