Obituary for Martin "Hoagie" Haines

Martin Keith Haines., age 60, of Erie, Pennsylvania went home to be with the lord on Friday, June 3,2022 at Upmc Hamot. Martin was born on November 14,1961 in Atlantic City, NJ To the late Roland Haines and Elizabeth Riley-Haines.
Martin graduated in 1980 from John F. Kennedy High School, then furthered his education at Grambling State University in Louisiana, where he played defensive end in football and was nick-named “Hoagie for the number of sandwiches he could eat, he also studied in communications at West Virginia State University. Martin loved life and lived it to the fullest. He went on to be a financial Advisor for several banks in Erie, Pa., Martin had a role in the autobiography of Jim Gregory, starring Harry Belafonte known as the White Tiger in the 1980’s.
He was a very loving, funny and humble guy that worked extremely hard and enjoyed doing so. When it came down to eating, he could not wait to have his sister Robin’s tuna macaroni salad. Martin was preceded in death by both parents and brother Steven Haines. He leaves to cherish his memory son;
Calvin Haines, brother; Russell Haines and sister; Robin Haines (Adrian Mc Cullum), nieces and nephews De’Na Haines, Justin Haines, Roland Haines, Dupree McCullum, Jerry Fisher, Steven Haines, and Terry Morrison. His longtime friend Stacey VanDyke. A host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
