Obituary for Steve Smith III
Steve M. Smith III, age 38 of Erie, PA passed away on December 30, 2022 unexpectedly at Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
Steve was born on May 24, 1984 to Virginia (Jenny) Gamble and Steve M. Smith Jr. He was a graduate of Central High School and served in the U.S. Army for a short period of time. Steve loved being a father and spending time with his kids, family and dog. He was the life of the party! He had an inviting personality and was a jokester, so he kept your stomach hurting from laughter.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Maxine Gamble, and his paternal grandparents Steve M. Smith Sr. and Betty J. Smith.
He is survived by his wife Lois Manning-Smith, sons Steve Smith IV, Shakeem Smith, Shameek Smith, Shaiede Smith, Shareef Smith, Shameir Smith and daughter Shakia Smith; bonus sons Laquan Grandberry, Chikuyo Bayete, Ogodei Bayete, and Onyaye Grandberry; bonus daughters Roshumba Bayete, Attallah Bayete and Stacy Star McLaurin. Granddaughters Za’Lilah Smith, Kahlani Smith and Yasmeen Al-Mansouri; bonus grandchildren Amoni Grandberry, Zaequan Grandberry, Azair Bayete, Azai Bayete, Nova Grandberry, Kulio Grandberry and Ogodei Bayete Jr. Sisters Tierra Gamble, Alisha (Marcus) Blackburn, Robin Kimbrough, Shtiesha Gamble, Dominique Maxon, Marie Wells, Montana Smith and Kiahra Moffett; and brothers Robert Kimbrough Jr., Darrell Sparks, Dashawn Smith Sr., Terrance Smith, Kimani Smith Sr. and Cailon McCall-Smith. Nephew and best friend Jahaun Jones and Devoted brothers and Joshua DeJesus, Jhen Scutella and sister Cyla Gillespie.
