Obituary for Tamara Crockett

Tamara M. Mayes Crockett, age 55, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, September 24,2021 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born July 27,1966 to her beloved parents Clement Mayes & Georgia Mae Mayes Atkinson.

Tamara loved Music, spending time with family, her grandkids and reading. She also loved plants and Flowers. She loved spray painting items for decoration. She spent some of her life with her cousins in Reed’s Household in Cleveland, OH. One of Tamara’s favorite gospel songs was the “Storm is passing over” and R&B Song I wish I wish I wish. She was a graduate of East High School class of 1984, attended St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was a member of Housing Authority of the City of Erie resident advisory board. She was a employee at St, Vincent, Strictly A Dollar, Plastek, CCIS for Children, a house wife and best friend.

Tamara accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at age 5, at the church of the Living GOD Cleveland, Ohio. With Bishop Ruth Campbell. Once moving to Erie, PA. She was an advocate member of the Second Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Emeritus Rev. Dr. Allen B. Green and recently under the leadership of Rev. Lamont Higginbottom.

Tamara was an amazing mother with a kind spirit and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother Gaylon Mayes and sister Gloria Cozart and nephew Allon Payne.
She leaves to cherish her memory; Husband William Anthony Crockett of 25 years. Mother Georgia M. Mayes Atkinson of Cleveland, OH. Sons Kevin Crockett, Jamal, Elijah, Anthony of Kansas City, William, and Rashod (Shawnie), One daughter Kiara Crockett (Cliff), Sisters; Naomi and Daisy, Aunts; Gladys, Joanie and Novella oldest granddaughters Brianna and Samiya and a god daughter Alize Harris.
A host of grandchildren, A special niece Erika Smith and nephews, cousins, and friends.
